PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treatment system and a sludge treatment method, capable of separating a dewatered sludge from a dewatering filtrate with a simple control at low cost, and efficiently adjusting the water content of the dewatered sludge to a constant value or less regardless of changes in properties of a mixed sludge of excrement and septic tank sludge.SOLUTION: The sludge treatment system which dehydrates a mixed sludge of excrement and septic tank sludge with a screw press dehydrator and separates a dewatered sludge from a dewatering filtrate includes: a moisture meter 5 which measures the water content of the dewatered sludge discharged from a dewatered sludge discharge port 11c of the screw press dehydrator 1; and a control device which inputs the measured value of the moisture meter 5 at every prescribed time and, based on the measured values, gradually controls the pressing pressure of a back pressure plate 15 disposed at the dewatered sludge discharge port 11c of the screw press dehydrator 1 and the revolution of a screw 13, such that the water content of the dewatered sludge discharged from the dewatered sludge discharge port 11c is maintained at a constant value or less. |
