929,479. Stoppers. ROSEDALE ASSOCIATED MANUFACTURERS Ltd. Jan. 26, 1962 [Jan. 28, 1961], No. 3125/62. Class 125(3). A stopper 1, which resists internal pressure in the bottle or container to which it is fitted comprises a snap-bead 2 engaging an undercut 8<SP>1</SP> around the bottle mouth 8 and a wall 3 against which a safety ring 6 with a projection 61 slides. To seal the bottle the stopper 1 with the ring 6 is pressed on to the mouth 8 until the bead 2 enters the groove 8<SP>1</SP> and is retained by the ring 6 being pressed further so that the projection 61 springs over an abutment 4. To remove the stopper upward pressure is exerted on the ring 6 so that it slides upwards, releases the bead 2 and engages an abutment 5. A cap 7 with walls 7a and 7b surrounding the wall 3 may be used to exert pressure on the ring 6; the cap 7 may be formed integral with the ring 6. |
