Multi-gear pinion assembly for a bicycle gearing system with small pinions and adapter for same

The arrangement (10) has multiple pinions (14-1-14-10) comprising different numbers of teeth for mounting in a rear wheel axis of a bicycle. A pinion module (12) i.e. coherent module, is provided at a part of the pinions. A drive mechanism (16) is interconnected or connected with the pinion module for mounting on the rear wheel axis. A pipe sleeve shaped adapter (26) is connected with the drive mechanism by a male thread shaped coupling portion (30). The adapter surrounds the drive mechanism in an axial area of the pinions of the pinion module. An independent claim is also included for a rear wheel-axle assembly for a bicycle.
