<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for forming a syntactic foam, improved in strength and having a sufficiently low density; and to provide a method for producing a syntactic foam. <P>SOLUTION: The material for forming a syntactic foam includes a microballoon, an inorganic powder having an average particle diameter of≤1/10 of that of the microballoon, and a thermosetting resin. The method for producing a syntactic foam includes a first step of mixing a microballoon and an inorganic powder having an average particle diameter of≤1/10 of that of the microballoon to obtain a mixed material M, a second step of filling the mixed material M in a mold 20, a third step of injecting a liquid thermosetting resin R in the mold 20 after the second step to impregnate the microballoon with the thermosetting resin R, and a fourth step of thermosetting the thermosetting resin R in the mold 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
