911,328. Bearings. RAPIDS-STANDARD CO. Inc. Nov. 8, 1960 [Nov. 30, 1959], No. 38382/60. Class 12 (1). In a bearing assembly a substantially toroidal-shaped member 40 of low-friction material is interposed between inner and outer races. In an embodiment the inner race 12 extends to a nut portion 15 and has a hexagonal bore 13 therethrough, and the outer race 21 extends to a radial flange 22. The member 40 has clearance faces 43, 43a and has a cylindrical-shaped face 41 which engages the outer race 21. The assembly is retained by a housing 30 and a washer 25. The housing 30 has a flange 32 thereon which abuts a conveyer roller 54, Fig. 5, having the bearing assembly therein, and a shaft 50 having a hexagonal cross-section is received by the bore 13 of the inner race 12. In another embodiment the member 40 is completely toroidal-shaped and both the bore of the inner race and the shaft are circular in cross-section.
