发明名称 A process for preparing foils from polyvinyl chloride or a co-polymer thereof by extrusion
摘要 Films are made from polyvinyl chloride, or copolymers thereof containing at least 50% polyvinyl chloride, by adding one or more metal soaps and one or more epoxide compounds of boiling point not more than 190 DEG C. at 760 mm. Hg. to the polymer or copolymer, extruding the polymer or copolymer to form a film, and heating the film to remove the epoxide compound(s). Preferably a calcium, tin, or zinc soap is used in an amount of 1-3% by weight, based on the weight of the polymer or copolymer. Specified soaps include calcium, tin and zinc ricinoleates, and zinc octoate. The epoxide compound preferably boils at from 110 DEG -190 DEG C. at 760 mm. Hg., and is used in an amount of 0,5-3% by weight, based on the weight of the polymer or copolymer. Specified compounds include glycide, glycide methyl ether, glycide ethyl ether, glycide ethyl ester, glycide acetate or allyl glycidyl ether. From 5-25% by weight, based on the weight of the polymer or copolymer, of a solvent which neither dissolves nor softens the polymer or copolymer in the cold but which dissolves it at an elevated temperature, may also be added. Specified solvents include toluene, o, m and p-xylene and dioxane. The treated polymer or copolymer may be p cast on to rollers to form a flat film, or blown to form a tubular film.
