摘要 <p>A bearing assembly 10 for rotatably supporting a shaft member 12 has an outer ring 18, having a first bearing raceway 26, and an inner ring 16, having a second bearing raceway 24. The raceways 24, 26 are oppositely spaced relative to each other. The inner ring 16 includes a plurality of tang members 32 extending in a cantilevered configuration from at least one end of the inner ring 16 having slots 34 formed therebetween. Bearing members 20 are positioned in a space between and in engagement with the first and second bearing raceways 24, 26. An undercut groove 40 extends circumferentially along an inner surface of the inner ring 16 adjacent the plurality of tang members 32. The undercut groove 40 is operable to increase an effective cantilever distance of the plurality of tang members 32 from X to Y (see Figure 4). The assembly 10 further includes a locking member 36 engaging the plurality of tang members 32 and exerting a compressing force upon the plurality of tang members 32 to couple the inner ring 16 to the shaft 12.</p>
