<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for highly efficiently producing iron powder-coated rice seeds formed into a single grain only by simple operation while avoiding the iron powder-coated rice seeds from being formed into a spherical seed containing plural grains of seed rice or an agglomeration of the plural grains of seed rice in producing iron powder-coated seeds which are suitably applied to cultivation by directly sowing in flooded paddy fields.SOLUTION: A method for producing iron powder-coated seeds includes the steps of: granulating rice seeds on which an iron powder-coated layer is formed by spraying water to "rice seeds", "iron powder", and "at least one of chemical compounds selected from the group consisting of 0.5-35 pts.mass of calcium sulfate, potassium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, calcium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, and the hydrates per 100 pts.mass of the iron powder" and mixing by rotating; granulating the rice seeds having a silica gel-coated layer formed on an outer layer of the iron powder-coated layer by adding silica gel and mixing by rotating; accelerating an oxidation reaction of the iron powder while water is supplied by spraying humidified air or water for attaching the iron powder to the rice seeds in the form of rust generated by the oxidation reaction; and drying.</p> |
