The dryer has a holding portion that is provided for hanging laundry articles with a portion of one cross beam (3) opposite to other cross beam (4). A frame (1) is formed such that spacing between cross beams is changed. A rope clamp (7) is extended from one cross beam to other cross beam in a line. A portion of line is stretched in different spacing of the cross beams, such that extension of laundry articles by tensile force is prevented.
