912,249. Magnetic filters. BAERMANN, M. Dec. 7, 1960 [Dec. 12, 1959], No. 42189/60. Class 117. In Fig. 1, a permanent magnet strip for use in filters for separating ferromagnetic particles from gaseous or liquid media has cross pieces 2 which space adjacent strips from each other, Fig. 3, or space adjacent turns when a strip is rolled into a spiral, Fig. 2. Casings 3 have bars 4 for maintaining the strip(s) rolled or stacked. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 4, corrugated permanent magnet strips are enclosed in the casing 3. Fig. 5 shows how the poles of four individual strips 10-13 are arranged. The strips may be magnetized so that no alternate poles are provided in the longitudinal direction. Magnetization may be such that magnetic poles exist only on one face of the strips. The strips may be of rigid material or material having a rubber-like elastic property. Corrugated strips of non-magnetic material may be used to space adjacent magnet strips. |
