A tractor-mounted hedge cutter comprises a support arm 1 raised and lowered by a hydraulic jack 6 and carrying side plates 8 between which, a base plate 9 is mounted for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis, the plate 9 surrporting a rotary, hydraulic motor 14 connected to the hydraulic power supply of the tractor by conduits 17 and coupled to a shaft 15 carrying a rotary cutter 16. A heavy driving plate 18 is secured to the cutter 16. The angular position of the cutter is adjusted by varying the angular position of the plate 9 relative to the side plates 8 or the angular position of the plate 9 may be controlled by means of a parallel linkage arranged in such a way as to maintain the axis of rotation of the cutter substantially horizontal as the arm 1 is swung up and down. |
