Disclosed are an image display device and an operation method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the image display device comprises: a display unit displaying multiple three-dimensional objects layered to have different three-dimensional depths; a sensor detecting a hand gesture of a user existing within the predetermined range from the display unit; and a control unit controlling the display unit to display a virtual three-dimensional hand image imitating the detected hand gesture on the display unit and show a display change corresponding to a touch applied to the multiple layered three-dimensional objects by using the virtual three-dimensional hand image. |
