A damper 10 is provided. The damper 10 comprises: a tubular body 12 having a first opening 14; and a piston 16 having a shaft 18 and a head 20 connected to the shaft 18. The head 20 is disposed in the tubular body 12 and is sealingly slidable therein. The shaft 18 extends through the first opening 14 and is sealingly slidable therethrough. A liquid 22 substantially fills a first volume 32 in the tubular body 12 between the head 20 and the first opening 14. Under load, the piston 16 may move relative to the tubular body 12 so as to increase the first volume 32 and cause the liquid to vaporise. A vehicle incorporating one or more such dampers is also provided. |
