<p>A mount for a fishing rod support such as a bank stick. The fishing rod support (2, fig 1) comprises a first elongate element (4 fig 1) and a second elongate element (6 fig 1) at least part of which is adapted to be slidably displaceable with the first elongate element, and a locking mechanism (20, fig 1) to releasably maintain the elongate elements in position with respect to one another. The locking mechanism comprises first and second members 22 ,24. Relative movement of the first and second members causes displacement of at least one displacement member 28 into a third member 26 thereby causing the third member to maintain the first and second elongate elements in position with respect to one another. The first, second and third members are preferably tubular and the first member has in part an elliptical interior surface. There are preferably two displacement members arranged radially opposite each other. The relative movement, preferably rotation, causes compression of the third member by the displacement members.</p> |
