<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an expectation for a display result of each variable display without giving a player a sense of incongruity. <P>SOLUTION: When an operation-start win is produced by a passage (entry) of a game ball in an operation-start winning hole, this game machine determines whether a variable display result becomes a "jackpot" or not, or determines a variable category and the like. When determining to execute a look-ahead forenotice performance based on the determination result, this game machine, before executing the variable display subject to the determination, executes the look-ahead forenotice performance for stepwise changing a performance mode. For example, a content of a ready-to-win performance that is different according to the performance mode in the look-ahead forenotice performance such as a character image in the display, is set in the variable display subject to the determination.
