<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen device which allows the assembling direction relative to a screen frame of a screen unit having a screen attached between a stationary frame and a movable frame to be selected without restriction. <P>SOLUTION: An openable screen unit 1 including a horizontally expandable or contractable screen 2, of which one end is connected to a stationary frame 3 and another end is connected to a movable frame 4, is detachably installed inside a screen frame 10, together with a receiving frame 5 in contact with the movable frame. The stationary frame and the receiving frame of the screen unit are detachable from side frames 11 and 12 of the screen frame, respectively, with engaging mechanisms 20 formed of a synthetic resin or a metal. The engaging mechanisms include locking parts 3d and 5d formed at corresponding positions of the stationary frame and the receiving frame, respectively, and engaging members 21 which are arranged at the both side frames and have latch pieces 22 disengageable from the locking parts, respectively.
