An iron-type golf club head according to at least one part of an aspect as an example of the present invention includes a ball hitting surface, a back surface, and a sole surface. The sole surface has maximum width and minimum width. The minimum width is located adjacent to a heal edge. The maximum width can be located between the ball heating center line and a toe edge. The width of the sole surface can be increased from the minimum width to the maximum width. Also, the back sole edge can have S-shaped profile extended between the maximum width and the minimum width. A lower back surface area has a substantially flat part located on the toe side of the center line, and a complexly bent concave part located on the heal side of the center line. |
