<p>Fitting a parametric curve 302, 304, 306 to a segment of a plurality of data points that include a first data point 308 disposed between second 310 and third 312 data points, by setting a point of maximum curvature for the segment at the first data point 308. The result of the fitting is output to the user on a computing device, preferably by displaying a curve in a user interface. The plurality of data points may be configured to be moved in the user interface in response to an input from the user. The curve may be made up a plurality of Bezier curve segments, linked to be continuous. Other independent claims are included for a method or system in which a parametric curve is displayed, a user defines or moves a data point to be the point of maximum curvature and the curve is recalculated such that the defined point is the point of maximum curvature of the curve.</p> |
