<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent improper ink from being filled in an ink tank of an printer, and facilitate initial filling. <P>SOLUTION: Jetting of the ink is stopped when the amount of ink jetted by a jet head reaches the predetermined limit value. When the input of the initialization data is accepted, and the initialization data is appropriate, the counting number of the amount of ink is initialized, and jetting of the ink is resumed. The initialization data which has been determined to be appropriate is determined to be inappropriate thereafter. Further, during the initial filling, the input of the initial data for filling is accepted, and the initial data for filling is appropriate, the counting number of the amount of ink regarding all of the ink is initialized.
