The present invention relates to a method for determining careless driving and a device for the same. The method for determining careless driving comprises: a step of detecting an object having an impedance element using electrostatic sensors arranged on the headrest of a vehicle seat; a step of detecting a change in capacitance using the electrostatic sensors; a step of measuring a distance between the object having an impedance element and one or more electrostatic sensors using the change in capacitance, detected by the electrostatic sensors; and a step of determining whether the object having an impedance element is in a careless state using the distance.
