providing, by a mobile computing device with a touchscreen and an integrated camera, a user interface configured to receive golf scoring data from a user, the user interface including a default score based on predetermined data related to past performance; capturing, via the integrated camera, an image of a golf scorecard; converting, within the mobile computing device, the image of the golf scorecard into one or more items of scorecard data; storing, within the mobile computing device, the scorecard data; receiving, within the mobile computing device, a first piece of golf scoring data from the user in relation to the scorecard data, determining, within the mobile computing device, from the received first piece of golf scoring data and from the scorecard data, a second piece of golf scoring data; and storing, within the mobile computing device, the first piece of golf scoring data and the second piece of golf scoring data.
