The present invention provides a method for preventing collisions between vehicles which obtains information about vehicles in front of a driver in a next lane using sensed information of the driver′s vehicle, prevents a collision with a vehicle running in front of the driver, and notifies the driver of a risk of collisions between the vehicles in front of the driver. The method for preventing collisions between vehicles according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step for receiving sensed information from vehicles running in front of a driver; a step for estimating a risk of a collision with a vehicle running in front of the driver and a risk of a collision between the vehicles running in front of the driver using the sensed information; and a step for warning the driver using estimated information. The driver makes a sudden stop if a collision with the vehicle running in front of the driver is predicted, and the driver slows down or steers the driver′s vehicle automatically if a collision between vehicles running in front of the driver is predicted. |
