摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery system that reduces retained water in a fuel battery cell during normal and stop periods without increasing the size of the system.SOLUTION: The fuel battery system comprises: a fuel battery stack 10 having a membrane electrode assembly and an internal reaction gas passage; retained-water quantity grasping means for detecting or estimating an actual quantity of retained water; power generation control means for controlling power generation of the fuel battery stack 10. The power generation control means has a normal period mode, normal-period dry mode, and stop-period dry mode. The normal-period mode is a mode in which the fuel battery stack 10 is caused to generate power normally. The normal-period dry mode is a mode in which the fuel battery stack 10 is caused to generate power while the fuel battery stack 10 is dried more than in the normal time mode until the actual quantity of retained water decreases to a target quantity of retained water. The stop-period dry mode is a mode in which, if the actual quantity of retained water when a system stop command is detected is not lower than a flooding threshold value, the fuel battery stack 10 is caused to generate power while the fuel battery stack 10 is dried more than in the normal dry mode until the actual quantity of retained water decreases the target quantity of retained water.
