PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber lateral input/output device and optical fiber lateral input/output method capable of easily, optically bonding fibers together at a low cost.SOLUTION: A fixed member 40 includes a fixed unit 41 on which a middle part 21 mounted on a curved-surface-side groove 31 abuts when a curved surface part 30 abuts on one end surface 40a and that grasps and fixes, by the abutting, the middle part 21 and a curved-surface-side tilt surface 31a of the curved-surface-side groove 31. When the middle part 21 abuts on the fixed unit 41, the curved surface part 30 and the fixed member 40 are mutually positioned, and at least a part of the fixed unit 41 is stored in the curved-surface-side groove 31 so that an optical fiber 20 is optically bonded to a probe fiber 50 by the positioning. |
