PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus of three-plate type, which is capable of satisfactory high frame rate photographing.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging section having image sensors for red, green, and blue images, each of which has two-line addition function; and a resolution converting section. Using the two-line addition functions, the imaging section outputs red and blue image signals and a green image signal, the spatial sample phases of which are shifted one-pixel space in a vertical direction. The resolution converting section subjects the red and blue image signals and the green image signal, output from the imaging section, to an interpolation process, thereby obtaining red, green, and blue image signals doubled in number of lines. For example, the resolution converting section subjects each of the red, blue, and green pixel signals to a vertical filter process, thereby making the number of lines double, and, then, adds the mixture signal of the high area signal component of each color to the low area signal component, thus obtaining red, green, and blue image signals doubled in number of lines. |
