<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking support system which has a small degree of dependence on driving skills of users and can more easily perform parking support.SOLUTION: A parking support system which performs parking support by using a terminal side transmission/reception section 30 of a portable information terminal 12 and an on-vehicle transmission/reception section 16 measures the distance between the portable information terminal 12 and the vehicle 10 by using the terminal side transmission/reception section 30 and the on-vehicle transmission/reception section 16 and moves the vehicle 10 on the basis of commands transmitted from the portable information terminal 12 which has been authenticated. If the measured distance between the vehicle 10 and the portable information terminal 12 is within a prescribed range, the vehicle is moved 10 on the basis of commands transmitted from the portable information terminal 12, while if the measured distance is out of the prescribed range or if the distance between the portable information terminal 12 and the vehicle 10 is impossible to measure, the vehicle 10 is stopped.</p> |
