The present invention relates to an anti-obesity composition containing an extract of Endlicheria anomala, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition containing an extract of Endlicheria anomala as an active ingredient, which can prevent or improve obesity, and a health functional food containing the extract of Endlicheria anomala as an active ingredient, which can prevent or improve obesity. The composition containing the extract of Endlicheria anomala of the present invention inhibits the differentiation of preadipocytes to adipocytes, and inhibits the enzyme activity of pancreatic lipase, and thus, inhibits the absorption of ingested fat in the body and facilitates the discharge of fat as well as has the ability to break down triglyceride accumulated in the cell and therefore, may be useful as anti-obesity composition. Furthermore, the invention inhibits the generation of adipocytes, thus may be used as a pharmaceutical composition or a health functional food for the prevention or treatment of diseases caused by the unwanted fat accumulation, such as fatty liver disease and lipid-related cardiovascular disease. |
