The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for cultivating vegetables and provides an apparatus and a method for cultivating vegetables which are easy to manage and may be selectively applied to an appropriate environment depending on the kinds of vegetables to be cultivated. To this end, the apparatus for cultivating the vegetables includes: a cultivating tray with a container shape having drainage holes at a lower part; a lower soil layer composed of a lower soil material housed within a meshed sack; and at least one upper soil layer stacked on the upper part of the lower soil layer and composed of an upper soil material housed within the meshed sack. Additionally, the method for cultivating the vegetables according to the present invention comprises the steps of: arranging the lower soil layer at the bottom of the cultivating tray; stacking at least one upper soil layer on the upper part of the lower soil layer; distributing and arranging vegetable seeds on the upper part of the upper soil layer; and supplying water into the cultivating tray. |
