<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device that can suppress tailing, while recognizing a breakdown voltage of an endless belt and preventing the leakage of current due to the application of bias voltage to the endless belt.SOLUTION: An image heating device includes: a heating rotating body that includes an endless belt; a pressure body forming a nip part that is in contact with the endless belt to hold and convey a recording material having a toner image formed thereon using toner while heating the recording material; application means for applying, to the endless belt, a plurality of bias voltages having the same polarity as that of the toner and a different absolute value from that of the toner; detection means for respectively detecting electrical information on the endless belt when the plurality of bias voltages are applied; and determination means for determining, to a breakdown voltage of the endless belt obtained by the detection means, a bias voltage at which an absolute value becomes maximum within a range not exceeding the absolute value of the breakdown voltage.</p> |
