<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering system that can detect the position of a turning shaft with stable accuracy.SOLUTION: A vehicle steering system includes a motor 13 for turning that rotates according to the steering of a steering wheel, and a turning shaft 5 that moves in an axial direction by power transmitted from the motor 13 for turning. The axial movement of the turning shaft 5 changes the direction of a pair of left and right turning wheels. The vehicle steering system is provided with an absolute position detector 15 that detects the position of the turning shaft 5 as an absolute position. The absolute position detector 15 comprises a cam surface 30 that is formed on an outer periphery of the turning shaft 5 to have inclination being gradually displaced in an axially orthogonal direction along the axial direction of the turning shaft 5, a driven body 31 that is supported so as to be movable in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the turning shaft 5 with being in contact with the cam surface 30, an energizing member 32 that holds the driven body 31 in a state where the driven body 31 is pressed against the cam surface 30, and a displacement sensor 33 that detects the displacement of the driven body 31.</p> |
