The present invention relates to a voice recognition method which can detect a voice section by using an image. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the voice recognition method based on image may include the steps of: receiving an input video including lips; extracting at least two consecutive static images from the input video; detecting lips section from the extracted static images; extracting a characteristic value of the detected lips section by using a chaos pattern, wherein the chaos pattern means an attractor pattern shown according to the changes in pixels between two images; and detecting a voice section by using the characteristic value of the extracted lips section.
