A method and an apparatus for optimizing uses of configuration memory of a re-configurable processor analyze parallelism of a loop which a program code has, generate configuration data for each cycle by scheduling groups of functional units to be activated for each cycle of the loop according to the analyzed parallelism, and map punctuation characters to sort configuration data and groups generated about scheduled groups in adjacent cycles to configuration memory.
