The present invention discloses an infrared sensing device for monitoring patients exhibiting unusual behaviors such as Alzheimer′s patients. To this end, the invention comprises an infrared sensor unit which emits infrared rays from sensors on both walls of each hospital room; a sensor control unit which generates sensor signals and patient′s unique patient number every time the patient gets up from bed more than a preset height; and a patient central control unit which sets off an alarm in response to the detected infrared signals generated by the sensor control unit through a fixed-line or wireless communications network, shows up the unique patient number on the screen, and generates the sensor′s movement signals. With this invention, nurses can find out the patient′s movements in real time and respond quickly, thereby reducing safety accidents significantly. |
