The present invention relates to a method for controlling a side passenger protecting apparatus, comprising: an input step of receiving an angular speed value from an angular speed sensor when the side at the front or at the rear of a vehicle collides, and receiving a side acceleration value from an impact sensor; a calculation step of calculating a displacement angle based on the inputted angular speed, and calculating real impact acceleration based on the calculated displacement angle and the side acceleration; and an operation step of operating the side passenger protecting apparatus if the calculated real impact acceleration is higher than the preset acceleration. |
