A fastener assembly comprises a plurality of fastener elements 16 retained in a resilient channel member 10 by lugs 46 on the elements 16 snapped into slots 42 in the flanges of the channel, the elements having an integral base flange 44 with wings 24 extending laterally to limitlateral movement of the element in the channel, and the lugs being integral with the wings. In Figs. 1 and 3, the elements 16 are dome-shaped housings for nuts 23 retained in the housings by a ring 50 and a sealing ring 41. The flange 44 is located in an opening 30 in the channel, with the wings 24 resting on the upper surface of the channel web 12. The lugs 46 extend upwardly and outwardly into the slots, from which they may be released, as by a screw-driver levered between the enlarged base 22 of the element 16 and the side of the channel. In Figs. 5 and 7, the wings 24 and lugs 46a, 46b are formed on the nuts 23a, 23b. Rivet holes 38 are formed in the channel-web.
