The present invention relates to a method for selecting a paprika infected with a gray mold disease and, more specifically, to a method for selecting a paprika which is in an entry stage of gray mold disease infection and an apparatus therefor. The method for selecting a paprika includes the steps of: obtaining spectroscopic analysis intensity for each wavelength range of a paprika to be selected using a spectroscopic analyzing system; and determining the paprika in the entry stage of gray mold disease infection when a maximum peak value is shown within a range of 700 to 765nm from a result of the spectroscopic analysis.
