A method for controlling an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: sensing a movement of a user; determining if the sensed movement of the user is a predetermined movement; photographing images if the sensed movement of the user is the predetermined movement; determining the user′s gazing by analyzing the photographed images; and performing a predetermined function when it is determined that the user has glazed for a particular period of time.
