Disclosed is a large slow running two-stroke uniflow internal combustion engine of a crosshead type (1). The engine (1) comprises: a plurality of cylinders (2) respectively connected to a launching gas accommodation unit (11) and an exhaust gas accommodation unit (6); a turbo charger having a turbine (T) receiving exhaust gas from the exhaust gas accommodation unit (6), and a compressor (C) supplying pressurized launching gas; a launching gas path inducing the pressurized launching gas from an outlet of the compressor (C) of the turbo charger (7) to the launching gas accommodation unit (11); and an exhaust gas recirculation path recirculating at least a part of exhaust gas from the cylinder (2) or the exhaust gas accommodation unit (6) to the launching gas accommodation unit (11), wherein the launching gas path comprise a bifurcation (23) from which an air blowing path (26) diverges. The engines additionally comprises an air blower (30) receiving the exhaust gas from the exhaust gas recirculation path and receiving the launching gas diverging from the air blowing path (26), and the air blower (30) forcibly blows the received exhaust gas and the received launching gas to the launching gas accommodation unit (11).
