The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for a treatment and a prevention of neurodegenerative disease containing rice extracts with a high antioxidative polyphenol content as active components. More specifically, an extract of super purple rice, new blackish purple pigmented rice (keunnunjamibyeo), and red rice has high anthocyanin and GABA contents which are antioxidative polyphenol components, enables neurons of animal models and degeneration induced cells to promote protection and differentiation, and represents a suppressing effect significantly on neuronal cell death, and thus the rice extracts with the high antioxidative polyphenol content can be effectively used as active components of the pharmaceutical composition to prevent and treat brain disease.
