The present invention relates to an electrode and an electrochemical device including the same and, more specifically, to an electrode which comprises: an electrode collector plate extending in the longitudinal direction; a first electrode active material layer formed in a certain thickness on at least one surface of the electrode current collector plate to be separated in a certain distance; and a second electrode active material layer formed on the electrode current collector plate exposed between the first electrode active material layers, and having thickness of 3-50 μm, and to a electrochemical device including the same. According to the present invention, separation of the electrode active material layer is prevented, even a tension caused by curvature of the electrode assembly, the coating amount of the electrode active material is increased compared with existing electrode current collector plate including an uncoated part to increase capacity of an electrochemical device, and also the electrode current collector plate becoming thinner does not include an uncoated part to remove risk of rapid change in tension applied to the electrode current collector plate, thereby removing a problem of imbalance of the electrode current collector plate. |
