Disclosed are a projector and a method for fixing the size of an image using the same. Embodiments of the present invention provide a projector comprising: a light source unit formed to emit light; an image projecting unit to project an image by emitting the light to a screen; a sensing unit to sense at least one of the data related to the output of the emitted light and position data on the screen of the emitted light; and a control unit to transmit an operating signal to the image projecting unit, and to control a gain value of the operating signal to fix the image, projected to the screen, in an optimized size based on the sensed data which is changed along with the temperature change of the surrounding.
