Provided is a valve mechanism for an internal combustion engine, the valve mechanism capable of appropriately adjusting a valve clearance while avoiding the deterioration of the posture of a main arm. A valve mechanism (1) is provided with: a support shaft (2) that is unmovably secured to a support part (10); a main arm (3) that is swingably supported by the support shaft (2); two sub-arms (4) that are disposed both sides of the main arm (3) in the axial direction of the support shaft (2); and a roller shaft (5) that couples the two sub-arms (4) to the main arm (3) and swingably supports the two sub-arms. Each of the two sub-arms (4) is provided with, at one end, a drive part (4a) that presses and drives a valve (11), and at the other end, a contact part (4b) with which a plunger (12a) of a lash adjuster (12) is brought into contact. The contact part (4b) has a curved surface (4ba) that is brought into slidable contact with a flat surface (12aa) formed at the leading end of the plunger (12a). |
