PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a cathode linearity property while maintaining sufficient sensitivity.SOLUTION: A transmission-type photoelectric cathode 2 includes: a light-transmissive substrate 4 including an outer side surface 4a to which light is incident and an inner side surface 4b that emits light incident from the side of the outer side surface 4a; a photoelectric conversion layer 5 provided in the light-transmissive substrate 4 closer to the inner side surface 4b for converting light emitted from the inner side surface 4b into photons; and a light-transmissive conductive layer 6, formed from graphene, provided between the light-transmissive substrate 4 and the photoelectric conversion layer 5.
