WATER TREATMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method and apparatus that can improve efficiency of coagulation treatment and reduce the amount of generated sludge.SOLUTION: A water treatment apparatus includes: a coagulant aqueous solution storage tank 7 that stores a coagulant aqueous solution; a coagulation tank 10 that is equipped with an agitator and mixes water to be treated with the coagulant aqueous solution to form aggregates; a particle diameter distribution measuring device 20 that measures the particle diameter distribution of the aggregates in the coagulation tank 10; and a control part 1 that controls at least one of agitation strength and the temperature of the mixed liquid in the coagulation tank 10 on the basis of the measured particle diameter distribution of the aggregates. The coagulant aqueous solution is added to the water to be treated to efficiently form the aggregates.
