PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate power consumption of the whole appliance even if the appliance includes a motor driven by an inverter circuit and a power factor-improvement circuit.SOLUTION: A household electrical appliance according to the present embodiment includes: a DC power source circuit; a power factor-improvement circuit; current detection means; an inverter circuit; a motor; voltage detection means; and power estimation means. The DC power source circuit rectifies and smooths alternating current given from an AC power source and outputs a direct current. The power factor-improvement circuit performs a power factor-improvement operation improving the power factor of the AC power source. The current detection means detects an input current to the DC power source. The inverter circuit converts a direct current output from the DC power source circuit into an alternating current. The motor is driven by the inverter circuit. The voltage detection means detects a DC voltage input in the inverter circuit. The power estimation means estimates power consumption of the whole appliance using a detection value of the current detection means and a detection value of the voltage detection means.
