PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device realizing improvement of functionality at an electromagnetic drain trap for compressed air.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a safety device for an electromagnetic drain trap for compressed air so as to remove drain generated from compressed air discharged by an air compressor and this safety device applies a constitution comprising current detecting means for monitoring a power source line for an AC solenoid valve; comparing and amplifying means capable of comparing a signal of the current detecting means with a prescribed reference and then amplifying it; one or more time delay means for sending a signal delayed from starting the discharging instruction signal of the AC solenoid valve by more than a prescribed time in which rush current flows; judgment means for making a logic product or Negative AND operation for a signal of the comparing amplifying means and a signal of the time delay means; and abnormal current holding means for holding a true value signal of the judgment means.
