A continuously variable transmission according to a desirable embodiment of the present invention comprises: a power device, e.g., a drive shaft (1) for directly receiving the output of an engine; a drive pulley (10) combined with the outer circumference of the drive shaft (1); a driven shaft (2) which is spaced from the drive shaft (1) with an interval while being in parallel with the drive shaft (1); a driven pulley (20) combined with the outer circumference of the driven shaft (2); and a belt (30) wound between the drive pulley (10) and the driven pulley (20) to transmit power to the driven shaft (2). The radii of the pulleys are varied by reciprocating the pulleys (10, 20) in the direction of the axial line of the drive shaft (1) or the driven shaft (2) using actuators (140, 240) as means. |
