PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of defrosting frozen foods in a good condition while being placed in the same place as tableware to be washed.SOLUTION: A dishwasher 1A for washing tableware by supplying hot water heated by a heating water heater 30 to a tableware housing body 2 that houses the tableware is provided with: dish washing mode setting means 15a for setting a dish washing mode of washing the tableware; food defrosting mode setting means 15b for setting a food defrosting mode of defrosting foods; hot water jetting means 25 for pumping and jetting hot water pooled in the tableware housing body 2; a heater 26 for heating the hot water pooled in the tableware housing body 2; and control means 11 for heating the hot water to a food defrosting preset temperature by the heater 26 and driving the hot water jetting means 25 when the food defrosting mode is set.
