PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior opto-electric hybrid substrate capable of protecting an optical waveguide of the substrate from bending and twisting while maintaining flexibility of a wiring section provided with the optical waveguide, thereby suppressing increase in optical propagation loss, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: Ends of a belt-shaped elongate insulating layer 1 are respectively formed into opto-electric module sections A, A' respectively having electrical wiring 2 comprising conductive patterns and optical elements 10, 10' on front surfaces of the sections A, A', while a section of the insulating layer 1 extending from the opto-electric module sections A, A' is formed into a wiring section B provided with a belt-like optical waveguide W including a core 8 for optical signal transmission, and optically coupled with the optical elements 10, 10'. A conductive dummy pattern 30 is formed in the wiring section B on a front surface of the insulating layer 1 to reinforce this section. |
