PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device and a filter, capable of improving insertion loss.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a surface acoustic wave device including: a pair of interdigital electrodes 22 which are provided on a piezoelectric substrate 10, and each of which includes a plurality of electrode fingers 24, a plurality of dummy electrode fingers 26, and a bus bar 28 to which the plurality of electrode fingers 24 and the plurality of dummy electrode fingers 26 are connected, the electrode fingers 24 and the dummy electrode fingers 26 of each other being disposed to face each other; and a band-like additional film 18 which covers at least a part of a gap 30 formed between a tip of an electrode finger 24 of one interdigital electrode of the pair of interdigital electrodes 22 and a tip of a dummy electrode finger 26 of the other interdigital electrode and is provided to extend in a first direction where the plurality of electrode fingers 24 are arranged. |
